Monarch Photos
April 8, 2016
One of our members created a habitat (caged area) on her back patio. Â She planted milkweed throughout her garden, and she checks for eggs on the bottom of the milkweed leafs. Â When she sees them, she carefully detaches the leaf and places it in the habitat. Â She keeps plenty of milkweed in the habitat because when the caterpillars hatch, they need milkweed to eat. Â Eventually the caterpillars will spin themselves into a chrysallis, and voila’, a monarch will emerge. Â She releases the monarchs after they are dry.
